Genesys® Pumps Survive the Storm

Over the years, Genesys® pumps have garnered a reputation for reliability and durability. They were put to the ultimate test when superstorm Sandy battered the New York Aquarium.

Dennis Ethier, Director of Plant Engineering at New York Aquarium writes:

“I had 2 of the Genesys® pumps installed on the Isolation pool at the health center with animals in the pool.  They were under salt water for about 8 hours and were running when the water hit.  On Tuesday afternoon (Hurricane Sandy hit Monday night) we flushed them out with fresh water and one of the two started and ran.  It was noisy as all hell but it ran for another 5 days until we got replacement pumps in.

Genesys® are a great pump that are super quiet; we’ve been taking motor skin temperatures for the last several months as part of our daily rounds and the MDM’s run about 30F cooler than either Jacuzzi or Hayward pumps of the same H.P.”
