Do You Have A Project We Can Help With?

Sarasota, Florida

Introducing the cutting-edge upgrade at MOTE’s Red Tide Lab (MAP): the implementation of the innovative Sequence® Colossus DC+ Non-Metallic Centrifugal Pumps with Controllers, revolutionizing the functionality and efficiency of the system. Out with the old Hayward Lifestar ½ HP high-speed pumps, and in with the dynamic Colossus technology.

This transformation brings about a host of benefits. Firstly, it tackles the issue of mechanical noise head-on, significantly reducing disruptive sound levels within the lab environment. Say goodbye to the clatter and hum of outdated equipment, and hello to a quieter, more conducive workspace.

Moreover, the upgrade delivers a remarkable reduction in power consumption, a testament to the efficiency of the new pumps. With power draw slashed from 4.6 amps to a mere 0.5 amps, there’s a substantial decrease in energy usage, translating to cost savings and environmental sustainability.

Overall, this upgrade marks a pivotal moment in enhancing the functionality, efficiency, and comfort of MOTE’s Red Tide Lab (MAP), aligning with the organization’s commitment to innovation and excellence in research and development.

PROJECT TYPE:

Research System & Aquarium LSS

MDM EQUIPMENT USED:
Sequence® Colossus DC Plus Non-Metallic Centrifugal Pump with Controller

“Our experience with MDM has been awesome. Their technical team is always ready and willing to jump on any hydraulic engineering project we have (and we have quite a few) to guarantee their pumps are selected for optimized performance. Our systems designs are complex and dynamic, often we are responding to an environmental emergency that is threatening an aquatic species, resulting in many iterations of the shape, size, and scope of the systems we are designing and building. The MDM team is flexible and easy to work with under such conditions while always adding value to our organization. We were the first adopters of their new Sequence® 750 Colossus DC+ pump technology, and I couldn’t be more pleased with the results of that small and powerful pump, motor, and controller configuration. We reduce mechanical noise in 4 of our labs by 50% by replacing old swimming pool pumps with the Sequence® DC+ pumps. If that weren’t enough, each old swimming pool pump (operating at 4.6 amps and 90dB) that was replaced with the DC+ reduced to .5 amps and 60dB, with the same amount of flow and pressure. Truely a remarkable product and top-notch organization. Highly recommended!”
